Abstract

Chancy interviews Elif Shafak, a Turkish writer. Shafak shares her thoughts on nationality, migration, what it means to identify as a woman of color in the US context, Turkey's ambiguous positioning between East and West, issues of sexuality, mysticism, the role of the artist in society, the history of feminism in Turkey and her fiction.
