Abstract

This chapter in this book will focus on the mechanical properties, including strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance, of titanium-based alloys and their significance in aerospace applications. It will discuss several types of titanium alloys and explore the unique characteristics of these alloys, such as high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and excellent high-temperature performance. The chapter also will discuss specific challenges and considerations in designing and manufacturing components using titanium-based alloys for aerospace applications, highlighting the benefits and limitations of these materials.
