Abstract

Seagrass is known as flowering plant (Angiospermae) that lives submerged in water and develops well in shallow sea and estuary., and consists of leaves,creeping rods are usually called as rhizomes and roots. Soyek community in Supiori regency of Papua Province consume rhyzoma and seagrass as food by way of consumption directly or as vegetables, and it has to know the content of nutrients in both parts of the seagrass. The purpose of this study is to determine the nutritional statueof rhyzoma and seed fromenhalus acoroides derived from the Sopiori district of Papua province. The method that used in this research is kwantitative descriptive.Result shown that rhyzoma contained water 89,99%, ash 0,79%, fat 0,52,% protein 0,75% and carbohydrate 4,16% while seed contained water 92,16%, ash 0,51%, fat 0,47%, protein 0.68% and 3.22%of carbohydrate. It is necessary to analyze the nutrient components for each part of seagrass and application in food product.
