Abstract
Construction of a breakwater to calmness port water basin must consider many aspects. The mam purpose is to assure the ships can loadmg and unloadmg cargo safely. For this reason, the collecting environment data related to the breakwater location must complete. In this paper wave height ratio of the breakwater was examme. Value of wave height ratio expected as lower as possible to ensure water basm area suitable to ships activity. The object that was analysed is the breakwater of Soekarno-Hatta Port located m front of quay about 1500 m ahead. An application program based on diffraction phenomena with wave water boundary to solve the problem was applied. It can be confmned that the construction of breakwater is effective to reduce wave height. In this case wave direction is nmety degrees based on wave rose analysis and inputted as the mam wave direction. Regular wave type only usmg as well to running the program. From the graph analysis breakwater can reduce mcommg wave height by 50% and wave height ratio lower than 0.3 It is effective to keep water basm calm for ships activity.
