Abstract

The correct form of equation (6) for the Kerr line element in tilted (t,r,ϑ,ϕ) coordinates should beds2=-(1-2Mr/(ϱ2))dt2+4Mr/(ϱ2)dtdr-(4Marsin2θ)/(ϱ2)P1dtdϑ-(4Marsin2θ)/(ϱ2)P2dtdϕ+(1+2Mr/(ϱ2))dr2-2asin2θ(1+2Mr/(ϱ2))P1drdϑ-2asin2θ(1+2Mr/(ϱ2))P2drdϕ+(ϱ2T21+AP21)dϑ2+2(ϱ2T1T2+AP1P2)dϑdϕ+(ϱ2T22+AP22)dϕ2. (1)This differs from the original form in a sign change inside the parenthesis in the sixth and seventh terms of the equation. In other words, whereas the metric given in our original paper had a factor (1-2Mr/ϱ2) in the grϑ and grϕ terms, the correct factor is (1+2Mr/ϱ2). The results and conclusions of the paper are unaffected by this change.
