Abstract

Currently, despite the fact that the course of English Movies Appreciation has been quite prevailing in each and every university and college in China, it is being given a low statue and undergoing a unitary and dull teaching method. This paper, however, based on the theory of Multimodal Discourse Analysis, explores a trial way in which movies can be utilized as the multimodal language carrier, and in which the teaching functions originally undertaken by more than one course are expected to be realized by the sole course of English Movies Appreciation.
