Abstract
The next paper is a proposal to reduce the temperature in a space named Cloister in the building Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenierfa, of the University of Santiago (U.S.C.). This space has a transparent roof with high solar radiation, and the temperature has reached 37 °C in summer. The atrium has a volume of approximately 7.000 m3 and a complete installation of air conditioning is too expensive. Our solution to diminish the temperature is to increase the dampness of the air and to renew it at the same time, with a minor cost and energy consumption.
