Abstract

Yogyakarta Special Region is an example of many areas prone to landslides, especially Pagerharjo Village. The purpose of this research is to map the spread of landslide prone areas and to evaluate the spatial pattern based on landslide vulnerability in Pagerharjo Village. Analysis of the landslide-prone area map is done by using GIS with ArcGIS 10.1 software. The variables used as determinants of landslide prone class are divided into geological aspects, topography aspect, soil aspect, climate aspect, vegetation aspect, and human aspect. The result of the research shows that Pagerharjo Village has 3 classes of landslide vulnerability, which is somewhat vulnerable with area of 62,10 ha (5,81%), prone to 662,84 ha (61,98%), and very vulnerable with an area of 344.58 ha (32.22%). Researcher recommend to relocate some settlements that are under slope or cliff and disaster mitigation in settlement to improve preparedness against the threat from landslide disaster.
