Abstract

Traffic congestion on road networks is a fact of life in the modern world: Time is wasted daily on a colossal scale. Things will probably get worse before getting better. What can we do, what should we do about it? Individual efforts seem hopeless; collective action is called for. We approach this as an economic problem from both the supply side and the demand side. © 2013 Hong Kong Society for Transportation Studies Limited.
