Abstract

We hear a lot of drunken driving incidents most of the day. Drunk drivers may not be in stable shape, and rash driving is a disadvantage for all drivers on the road and even for the drunken driver and others questions of life and death. It is claimed that alcohol sensing with an engine-locking system reduces the spike in traffic incidents induced by drivers' extreme alcohol consumption. The system is designed to track alcohol content in a driver's exhaust breath, and the data are transferred to unlock the engine locking system through wireless communication. Embedded Systems comprise intelligent computing devices that are surrounding us. In this paper, we describe the execution of an automatic engine locking system that senses the alcohol wafers and automatically locks the vehicle's engine. This system utilizes Arduino Uno, Alcohol Sensor, LCD, a Buzzer, and mainly a power supply. It is preprogrammed by using Embedded C and is primarily meant to ensure safety for the passengers traveling in the car, thereby preventing accidents. The system shall be installed inside the vehicle.
