Based on theoretical frameworks that seek to link criminal behavior to space and using data from Household Sample Survey of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil-2013, we developed a Loglinear analysis with information about the insecurity of urban land tenure in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. This analysis also examines the fact of whether a household, in this area, was invaded at least once or not. The results show both a positive correlation between insecure land tenure and house invasion in the municipalities of the metropolitan region as well as a negative correlation in Belo Horizonte. Among the explanations, we noted that in the capital the already consolidated irregular areas, would have greater social cohesion. This would also guarantee them greater housing security, even of the land tenure. This aspect would not be observed in areas of recent occupation that are more common in the metropolitan periphery.
