Abstract
The physical concepts of spintronics using graphene are introduced, including how a long spin coherence can be expected to be realized in graphene. A number of significant studies in graphene spintronics are reviewed including the latest developments. The theory of spin–orbit interaction and pure spin current is summarized and the application of electrically generated pure spin current for spin injection into graphene is described.
