Abstract

Medical narrative and humanities are ultimately where we turn when we are ready to commit to a reckoning of what is and what is not in medicine. These creative expressions of ourselves reveal not only what we have been through but also the impact the experience has had on us. Poems, narratives, and essays truly help us understand one another and bond together in solidarity as a health care community. As the section editors of Sharing Our Stories for Families, Systems, and Health, we put out a call to our health care community to share what they have endured, been witness to, and processed during these turbulent times. We asked for haiku, poems, 55-word stories, and/or narrative. We selected 22 pieces that our peer-reviewers and editors felt best captured these themes. This is a first for Families, Systems, and Health, an online only and themed edition of Sharing Our Stories. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2021 APA, all rights reserved)
