Abstract

Therapeutic communication carried out by nurses to try to express feelings, identify, assess, evaluate problems and actions taken in carrying out nursing care and generate motivation to recover patients. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between therapeutic communication and improvement of patient's motivation to heal at DPM dr.Andre. This study used a cross sectional approach. Samples were taken using quota sampling technique as many as 109 respondents in DPM dr.Andre, Masangan Kulon Village, Sukodono District, Sidoarjo City. The variable instrument of therapeutic communication and healing motivation uses a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Spearman Rho test with < 0.005. Based on the results of the Spearman Rho test, the value of r = 0.527 with a value of = 0.000 indicates a strong relationship and statistically there is a significant relationship between therapeutic communication by nurses and increasing patient motivation to recover at DPM dr.Andre Sidoarjo.
