Abstract
The object of this research was to study how to detect most effectively electromyogram (EMG) of suprahyoid muscles during swallowing. The position of recording electrodes on suprahyoid muscles during deglutition has been investigated in 6 healthy men. The EMG of suprahyoid muscles was detected by 4 methods designated as submental, submaxillary, lateral and hyoidal recording at full bite, tongue elevation in 2 seconds and water 3ml swallowing.
