Abstract
A new species, Tylopilus microsporus, collected from Sichuan and Yunnan, China, is described and illustrated. The new species is characterized by pale violet to violet pileus, paler purple to purplish brown stipe, flesh color to pale purplish red hymenophore and small spores. The differences between this species and its related taxa, such as T. plumbeoviolaceus, T. rubrobrunneus, T. plumbeoviolaceoides and T. violatinctus, are discussed.
