This study examines the integration of sustainable development goals (SDG) of the United Nations 2030 agenda and assesses the possible barriers encountered in the implementation process in Colombian public universities. Although there are studies that address the implementation of SDGs in higher education training processes, there are few studies that evaluate the progress of the incorporation of the SDGs in universities. A questionnaire is designed, validated, and applied to survey the heads of planning or related areas of the 32 public universities in Colombia. The results show significant commitment by universities in integrating SDG processes into the university's institutional strategies. In conclusion, the most important aspects of SDG integration are identified, including the main barriers and the contributions of the training processes associated with sustainable development.
