Ordenamento do território e política de habitação: Que caminhos para Portugal?

Abstract

The essay relates Land Use Planning and Housing Policy. In doing so, three subjects, considering the Portuguese contemporary context, come to surface with particular relevance: Compact versus sprawl; Renewal versus new constructions; Cost of housing versus household income. For each subject a diagnosis is done and possible solutions are pointed out. These solutions are confluent and can be understood as a contribution to a new housing and land use policy.
