Phospholipid turnover during the division cycle of Escherichia coli

Abstract

The turnover of phospholipids in E. coli B/r was analyzed in synchronously growing populations. The turnover of presynthesized phosphatidylglycerol and cardiolipin continued at a constant exponential rate throughout the division cycle.
