Abstract
Air temperature and wind data were collected along a transect spanning both the north-facing and south-facing slope of a valley near Kevo, Finnish Lapland during a 10-day period in March 2014. Our data show that strong temperature inversions developed on some nights, which largely dissipated the following day. This was especially the case over the south-facing slope, suggesting that aspect influences the destruction of cold-air pools. A period of milder, more humid weather conditions, however, showed a much reduced tendency for cold-air pooling (CAP) to occur in the valley.
