Abstract

This article discusses the usefulness and effectiveness of major national drug prevention campaigns. Are they verified and assessed? Can we objectively judge their impact? We begin by detailing the 11 public communication campaigns that have been broadcast in France since 1982. Then we will study the evaluation of two of these national campaigns before reviewing the scientific literature on the effectiveness of communication campaigns as prevention tools. We conclude with the key points of the campaign effectiveness and its evaluation.
