Abstract

A nasopharyngeal tumor in a 14-year-old male patient was diagnosed as juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. The tumor seemed to originate in the sphenoid sinus, and the right nasal cavity was obstructed by it. First, superselective angiographic embolization was performed, and then the tumor was removed through a transantral approach. The pre-operative embolization prevented exessive bleeding during the operation. © 1990, The Society of Practical Otolaryngology. All rights reserved.
