Abstract

The paper presents results of the investigation of piezoelectric actuator with two different vectors of polarization. The beam type piezoactuator has square crosssection and different half of the actuator has different direction of polarization vector. Both vectors are perpendicular to longitudinal axis of the actuator. The electrodes of each half of the actuator are divided into two sections used for the excitation of longitudinal and flexural oscillations. Applying different excitation schemes of the actuator, 3-DOF movement of the positioned object can be achieved and trajectories of contact point motion can be controlled as well. The results of numerical modeling and experimental investigation are given in the paper. Recommendations for further development of this type actuator are given.
