Abstract
The Khomanani Community Action Partners (KCP) programme was initiated to provide HIV/AIDS-prevention social mobilisation activities. This study explored the effectiveness of the KCP programme in the social mobilisation of communities in the Greater Letaba Municipality (Limpopo Province) for HIV/AIDS prevention and care, as experienced by the partners. Data were collected through 11 semi-structured interviews. Findings highlighted the strengths of the programme including, amongst other things, the harmonisation of HIV/AIDS messaging and communications. Limitations such as inadequate role clarity within the broader framework of government services were identified. The programme proved effective in mobilising the resource-constrained community for HIV/AIDS prevention and care.
