Abstract
Introduces the concept of cohort selection: a kind of natural selection that takes place because of interactions among the age groups in a biological population. A requisite for this is genetic differentiation among the age groups. The selection then takes place when the age groups modify one another's survival and/or reproduction. Cohort selection is frequency dependent as shown by simulations. There is no evidence that the direction of selection is affected by the degree of dominance of the interference allele or by the strength of interference.-from Authors
