Abstract
This report summarizes results of research completedby Children’s HealthWatch (formerly the Children’sSentinel Nutrition Assessment Program (C-SNAP)),and by many other researchers, on the impacts of foodinsecurity and hunger on children’s health, growthand development. A large body of research literature, amassed over the past two decades, shows clearlythat food insecurity and hunger together with othercorrelates of poverty, can dramatically alter thearchitecture of children’s brains, making it impossiblefor them to fulfill their potential.
