Abstract

Holothuria scabra known as sandfish is one of the sea cucumber species that has high economic value and is used for functional food. Sandfish mariculture is needed to supply the demand market globally. Grow out process is visible to conduct in low capital investment. Culture of this species could be implemented as marine commodity diversification and an alternative livelihood as side income in a coastal community. The aims of this study determined the feasibility sandfish mariculture conducted by local fishermen in East Lombok and provide information for stakeholders. The method used in this research was based on survey and financial analysis. The result showed that the revenue was IDR 9,000,000, the profit was IDR 5,463,800, R/C ratio 2.54, Pay Back Period was 4 years 7 months, NPV was IDR 2,373,255 and IRR was 14.52%. Investment to grow out sandfish is promising to be implemented in East Lombok however improving the technology to reach the yield is still needed. Most of economic feasibility parameters is feasible besides Pay Back Period less feasible.
