Abstract
This paper aims to lay down the existing evidence concerning agile software estimation, it summarizes the empirical evidence of the existing agile estimation methods, identify gaps in the current research in order to suggest areas of further investigation and improvement, and to provide a basis for the improvement of agile software estimation research through a systematic review of previous work. The contribution of this paper is twofold, first is providing a basis for the improvement of agile software estimation through a systematic literature review of previous work. Secondly, it presents a recommendation for further research based on the results presented in this paper and the recommendations by well-known researchers in the field of software engineering in general and in software estimation in particular.
