Abstract

In a head-to-head study, ILs based upon tetraarylphosphonium cations exhibit superior long-term thermal stability compared to familiar salts based upon imidazolium, quaternary ammonium, or tetraalkylphosphonium cations. © 2013 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
