Abstract

This paper analyses the literature on immigration in Spain, based on research conducted in recent decades in the fields of comparative literature and sociology. The aim is to make this sociocultural field visible by framing these narratives within our sociohistorical reality and thus relating them to aspects of social dynamics and change. Special focus will be placed on the institutionalization of a range of discourses on the topic. The proposal is based on the need to construct a broad-based framework for the analysis of such literature, and applies an approach that identifies and interrelates the main agents, social dynamics, and hegemonic discourses involved.
