Abstract

The SAW welding process uses fluxes that are shaped like sand which serves to protect the filler metal that melts during the welding process so that no contamination from outside air occurs by working automatically so as to get a pretty good welding result. while SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) electrodes are covered or protected by flux by a manual process. This writing is to analyze the comparison welding results using method standard WPS PS-03 (Original) parameters and WPS PS-03R (Repair),with using impact testing in order to determine the toughness of the specimen. This test aims to determine the toughness of the impact on the WPS PS-03 (Original) and WPS PS-03R (Repair). The WPS PS-03R specimen has a greater value compared to the WPS PS-03 specimen. If the strength value of the specimen is greater, the stronger and tougher the specimen. The temperature in the specimen is very influential on the ductility or agility of a metal. The higher the temperature, the more resilient the metal and vice versa.
