Round-up of IP decisions and legislative reforms in Africa 2021

Abstract

This article provides an analysis of several important judgments issued by national courts in individual African countries (mostly Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa) in the period 1 January to 31 December 2021. Apart from the judgments, the article highlights developments in legislative and administrative reforms in various intellectual property law fields in 2021. The intellectual property law fields covered include copyright, trade marks and patents.
