Abstract

Let's share! The synthesis of the unprecedented complex [Pt(LSn)(μ2-pyt)2Cl] (L=2,6-(Me2NCH 2)2C6H3-, see figure), in which a SnN-coordinated stannylidenium (LSnII)+ fragment donates to a [Pt(pyt)2Cl]- anion, is reported. The natural-bond-orbital analysis revealed that the lone electron pair of the stannylidenium (LSnII)+ fragment is shared by tin and platinum atoms and the charge of the Sn atom is +1.709.
