Abstract

Devolatilization is an important unit operation in polymer processing, that is often performed in rotating devices. This work is concerned with the experimental study of film degassing in a simple rotating apparatus with a blade agitator. The experimental setup and procedure are presented. The results are evaluated with the surface renewal theory which is also known as penetration theory. (© 2015 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
