SYEKH NURJATI, ISLAMISASI DAN BASED RESEARCH SYSTEM: THE TURNING POINT FOR UIN SYEKH NURJATI CIREBON

Abstract

Syekh Nurjati is considered to be one of the initiators of the Islamization process in Cirebon. Their ability to socialize Islamic teachings by means of the exoteric and esoteric synergy of the Islamic religion made Pangeran Walanggungsang and Nyai Rara Santang embraced Islam. In the Islamic scientific tradition, the exoteric and esoteric synergy of religion is a scientific activity between sharia and Sufism as practiced by Imam al-Qusyairi and Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazali. Syeikh Nurjati's ability inspired the naming of an Islamic higher education institution in Cirebon through the inclusion of its name as the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. It is hoped that the inclusion of the name Syekh Nurjati will take inspiration from the scientific patterns and methods used by Sheikh Nurjati in the Islamization process in Cirebon. During its development, IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon is currently metamorphosing into UIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. By taking the same pattern at its roots, UIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon is expected to be able to run the Based Research System as practiced by Syekh Dzat al-Khafi or Datuk Kafi or Syekh Idhofi Mahdi or Syekh Nurjati.
