The study is to measure the impact of demographic factors on the investor's choice of investment and to identify the difference in various objectives, Influence sources and investor's behavior as per the investment pattern. The study analyzes the investors perception and behavior towards investment schemes by a sample group comprising of government employees, private employees, businesspersons, self-employed, retired from services, students, and homemakers in Bengaluru. The study is based on the data compiled on the answers to a questionnaire, circulated among the above-mentioned categories. Data was analyzed through Garret Ranking and percentage analysis. The study reveals that criteria of age, gender, educational qualifications, occupation, marital status, annual income does influence or has an impact on the investor as regards awareness of investment instruments, factors influencing investment, preference of investment instruments etc. Financial security is the primary reason for investment and bank and mutual fund schemes are the top priority investment schemes by all respondents.
