Abstract

Negative lineaments in the granilic bedrock an:as of NW Peninsular Malaysia are inlerpreled to reprcscntlhe strikes of fraClureS lhat have developed both before. and as a result of. an approximalely 120·-300· dirccled compression during the Upper Jurassic to Early Tertiary. The fractures pre-datin~ this period of compression are furthermore. iruerpreted to be primary fraclures that hal'e formed during lhe cooling of granile batholiths. particularly lhose emplaced during lhe Upper Triassic.
