Abstract

This[aut] Lo, Noble research[aut] Chan, Sumie is aimed at establishing how teaching culture has been transformed by the implementation of online teaching and learning during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. In particular, the study evaluates how this paradigmatic shift towards online learning has impacted the teaching culture of Hong Kong from the perspective of teachers working in higher education who have moved to teaching online. This overarching research objective is pursued through investigating the impact of online learning from within the theoretical frameworks of both Education and Media Psychology, examining how the new media employed in online teaching can transform teaching through its mediation between teacher and learner from an interdisciplinary perspective.
