Abstract

A novel polyoxometalated-based compound, {[Pr(H2O) 7][CrMo6HgO24]}·4H2O, was prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared and ultraviolet spectroscopy, TG measurement and single crystal X-ray diffraction. A chain-like coordination polymer is formed from a heteropolyanion [CrMo6H 6O24]3- as a building unit and [Pr(H 2O)7]3+ cations as linker. The chains are linked into an extensive three-dimensional supramolecular network through hydrogen bonding. The synthesis of 1 is accomplished only from pre-synthesized Anderson clusters, but not from simple starting materials. © 2008 Verlag der Zeitschrift für Naturforschung.
