Abstract

The development of open access collections has recently been marked by the appearance of dedicated services that go beyond providing documents or citations to responding to the needs of end-users. Emma Bester identifies the scientific issues and describes the current offer. This state of the art is based on functional analysis as applied to seven repositories or services dedicated to open collections. The author notes that such value added services seek to put the author at the heart of informational data, and explores how these services could be developed to broaden scientific networks and renew circuits that identify and solicit subject-matter experts and monitors. © A.D.B.S.
