Abstract
Colombia is a privileged country given the geographical position, the diversity of ecosystems and the great complexity in plant communities, conditions that allow it to occupy the third place in diversity of butterflies on the World. We establish the composition of species of family Pieridae in four sites of Playonero river basin, located in the northeast of the Colombian Andes in the department of Santander. We made captures of Pieridae butterflies in the project Characterization of the wild Entomofauna of Playonero river basin. We collected 84 individuals belonging to four genera and 12 species. The analysis of sampling quality estimated a potential richness of 14.51 species, a proportion of observed species of 82.71% and a sampling effort of 90.71%. The analysis of similarity shows a grouping of La Tigra, Planadas and La Naranjera. We report the presence of Eurema gratiosa (Doubleday, 1847) and Perrhybris lypera sulphuralis (Butler, 1896), thus expanding the list of species registered
