Abstract

The purpose of this article is to familiarize readers with the recent Social Security legislation designed to reduce financial disincentives to the return to work for recipients of Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Insurance. Multiple programs are discussed, and a specific example of how one state is utilizing funds received through this program is shared. In a case study, one large spinal cord injury catastrophic care hospital's program is described.
