A (im)pertinência da história ao aprendizado da física (um estudo de caso)

Abstract

Neste artigo, assumo que a História de uma particular ciência é um legítimo foro de investigação de seus fundamentos. A História revela "o porquê" das categorias conceituais da ciência, clarificando, assim, o significado dos conceitos. Para ilustrar, apresento um estudo de caso: Uma análise conceitual da Teoria do Calor.In this paper I hold the view that the History of a particular science is the most legitimate tool to investigate its foundations. The history of a particular science discloses the "why" of the conceptual categories of that science; hence it clarifies the meanings of its various concepts. To exemplify, I present a "case study", the Theory of Heat, which is a conceptual analysis of Thermodynamics.
