Abstract

In this paper, a mathematical model of Lassa fever is formulated. The model includes quarantine as a control strategy and allows re-infection. The model is shown to be well posed. The disease free equilibrium is shown to be locally asymptotically stable whenever the basic reproduction number is less than unity and unstable otherwise. Numerical simulations have been used to show the impact of the control measure. Keywords: Quarantine, re-infection, immunity, reproduction number, stability.
