Abstract

The retablo-façade of the church of "Nuestra Señora de la Asunción" in Vistabella del Maestrazgo (Castellón) is one of the most important Renaissance elements in the Valencian architectura. The objective of this article is to carry out a graphic and historical study of this piece. To get this, it has carried out an architectural graphic survey and it has compiled bibliographic and archival information, to examine the formal, geometric, metrological and metric aspects of the main portal of the temple. All this has allowed us to find the original trace, the modulation used based on Valencian span, the composition scheme, relations with other parts of the building and its relationship with other retablo-façades.
