Abstract

9,10-Dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO) reacts under acidic conditions with orthoformates and alkyl alcohols to form 10-alkoxy-10H-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrenes (1) in high yields. 10-Dialkoxymethyl-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxides (2) were identified as side products and synthesized as main products by the modification of the reaction conditions. ©ARKAT-USA, Inc.
