Abstract

The practice of Sufism has gained increasing popularity, especially among adolescents. Traditionally associated with religious practices, Sufism has emerged as a potential contributor to mental health, in addition to its spiritual dimensions. This article examines the relationship between Sufism, particularly within the framework of Sufi quantum studies, and mental health. The study involved three participants from the Darul Afkar Islamic Boarding School in Klaten, Indonesia, who participated in Sufi quantum practices. The primary aim was to explore the spiritual experiences of these individuals and assess their impact on mental well-being.This research utilizes a phenomenological approach to understand the lived experiences of those practicing quantum Sufism. The phenomenological method was chosen for its focus on uncovering the subjective meanings of participants’ spiritual practices and their effects on mental health. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Four key themes emerged from the informants’ experiences with Sufi quantum practices: 1) inner peace and stress control, 2) feelings of connection with God, 3) self-reflection and spiritual purification, 4) self-acceptance. The findings suggest that Sufi quantum practices contribute significantly to stabilizing mental health. Participants reported reduced psychological stress and improved emotional well-being. These practices, therefore, serve not only as spiritual disciplines but also as effective therapeutic interventions, enhancing mental health and acting as a protective factor against psychological disorders.
