One hundred years of education and research in the department of forest sciences, Seoul national university: Past, present, and future

Abstract

This paper describes the 100 years of history of education and research in the Department of Forest Sciences, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea in memory of its 100th anniversary. It includes a brief introduction, history of Department of Forest Sciences in relation to its roles in successful reforestation in Korea after the Korean War, changes in the paradigm of forestry education, faculty members and forestry program curriculum including graduate school, past and present research activities, and priority in the future education and research. © 2006, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
