Abstract
Lately, a number of remote laboratories for motion control has been developed worldwide as a valuable tool for teaching mechatronics students basic control strategies. However, there is a lack of remote laboratories that can be used in teaching advanced motion control. In this paper a remote laboratory for advanced motion control developed at the University of South Australia is described. The real time control algorithms, including H-infinity control, are successfully implemented in an FPGA environment. This paper also gives a detailed description of the graphical user interface developed for this laboratory, which enables effective remote experimentation.
