Abstract
In a prison in the Province of Buenos Aires a public university, as an agency of the state, assumes in 2008 the task of reducing the situation of social vulnerability of a marginalized group, from the management of a university center. The present article is a part of an ethnographic study about practices and meanings in the appropriation of educational rights in a context of criminal imprisonment from the approach of learning experiences of different social actors involved in a pedagogical and social project. The objective of this work is to highlight some aspects of the processes of construction, appropriation and circulation of educational rights in the university within the prison. Inquiring into the relationships between education as a universal right and the particular narratives about educational rights, which arise in the process of appropriation of these by students, both persons deprived of their liberty and prison agents, will then be interpreted rights, lived and located (Barrera, 2015). Methodologically, the present work uses ethnography prioritizing the description and analysis of the specific activities carried out by the actors involved, for this purpose a field work is carried out that combines participant observation techniques and indepth interviews at the university center, attending to the study subjects and their environment.
